POSTER PROJECT: SLEEPOVER WITH THE FISHES

Origin

The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA) is the most famous marine biology museum and research institution in Taiwan.

Sleepover in the aquarium is one of the well-known activities of the NMMBA, suitable for parents and children, couples, and school trips. This activity is not only fun but also educational.

This type of activity exists abroad, such as the Long Island Aquarium in New York, USA. Therefore, I designed an English version of the sleepover poster for the NMMBA. I hope this activity can also be known to foreign tourists.

Inspiration & Creative Process

I started with three hand-drawing drafts. I chose the chinstrap penguin as the main character on the poster since it can microsleep over 10,000 times a day, and is also popular in the NMMBA.

For the poster title, I played a little bit of wordplay. To sleep with the fishes means to be murdered, to be killed and the body hidden from the public. However, if the word "sleep" changes to "sleepover", the whole sentence's meaning will be different. So I made the word "over" look like it was added later.
